About the Job
The Use Tax Product Solution Consultant position is an individual contributor role specializing in the Use Tax Market, designed to guide incremental bookings for strategic or specific product(s) across our business sales organization.
The Use Tax Product Solution Consultant will be the subject matter expert (SME) for a specific product and will be considered the go-to resource for the our business sales organizations; from training and enablement to deal support throughout the sales executive and customer account manager sales motions. Reporting to the Senior Director US Strategic Products & Consulting, the Use Tax Product Solution Consultant will be tightly aligned with leadership in the our business sales organizations. This is a remote role.
- Every day you will respond to incoming requests from sales executives and customer account managers to help them close deals.
- You will hold office hours to train and advise salespeople on Use Tax and how to attach it to their deals. You will also hold Q&A in these sessions.
- Be the subject matter expert for Use Tax; to include building deep levels of product knowledge, customer domain knowledge and industry knowledge.
- Help sales executives and customer account managers understand their prospects/customers' business environment and provide valuable applicable recommendations to lead product attachment and end-to-end solutions.
- Provide sales executive and customer account manager deal support from discovery and qualification, to product demos to deal negotiations, to quote support and closing.
- Articulate and present the value delivered by Avalara products and services to multiple levels within a customer organization.
- Develop plans to achieve strategic product budget targets, including how to increase the product skills of sales teams.
- Create regular bookings forecasts and report out on bookings performance to leadership.
- Represent the 'Voice of the Customer', surfacing important product and business insights to help inspire creativity for Avalara teams, i.e., Product, Marketing, Implementation, and Support.
- Understand the prospect’s needs and market solutions which align to those needs.
- Experience in the use tax market and the associated tax compliance challenges.
- 5+ year's experience as a B2B Sales Professional (SaaS preferred).
- Experience maintaining clean records of sales outreach and contacts in a CRM,
- motivated & inspired to influence the success of others.
- Experience teaching/mentoring others to achieve shared success.
