We’re currently seeking an Underground Project Manager to lead our underground projects and manage operations from start to finish. As a key part of our team, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the execution of large-scale projects, managing resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to our high standards.
Job Summary:The Underground Project Manager is responsible for embodying the core values of Heartland Underground Solutions. This role involves committing to excellence, driving change, fostering a positive team environment, and creating exceptional experiences for both employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with involved parties during the initial planning stage to develop detailed job descriptions and material requirements.
- Oversee pre-construction meetings to ensure a successful handoff from estimating to the field.
- Coordinate the ordering of job materials and necessary blueprints for projects.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, managers, designers, and tradespeople.
- Resolve issues related to work procedures, complaints, and construction or design challenges.
- Daily interaction with customers, employees, vendors, and the general public.
- Set clear goals and expectations for foremen and apprentices.
- Update job information and communicate with builders to maintain project timelines.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and emergency management on-site.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
- Delegate tasks effectively and maintain accountability for all inventory, including machinery and tools.
- Oversee field site visits and coordinate with estimators on change orders.
- Instruct and assign work, review performance, and plan the work of others.
- Assist in selecting new employees and address employee issues.
- Recommend and approve promotions, discipline, and compensation adjustments.
- Access to confidential information, including customer data and profit and loss reports.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical underground experience; management experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to be insured under company vehicle insurance policy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Stamina to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor:
- Primarily outdoor work, often in challenging weather conditions.
- Exposure to construction sites with varying levels of noise, dust, and heavy equipment operation.
- Frequent interaction with crew members, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
Safety Requirements:
- Comply with OSHA safety guidelines and wear PPE as needed.
- Report hazards and follow safe work practices.
