Rate: $33.73 - $52.28/hour (eligible for shift differential)

Shift Type: 12 HR Nights

Shift Times: 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM (3 days per week, 36 hours total)

Job Overview:

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams and assisting in their interpretation. The technologist must be skilled in abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular ultrasound exams. No on-call is required, and shifts are available for days and evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general ultrasound exams, including abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, and breast imaging, as well as specialty procedures like biopsy and aspiration.
• Conduct vascular examinations, such as venous duplex, venous mapping, carotid duplex, and arterial Doppler.
• Assess patient history and symptoms in relation to the study being performed.
• Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently.
• Assist staff physicians as needed during exams.
• Follow established protocols and hospital policies for conducting procedures.
• Produce high-quality ultrasound images and provide assistance in their interpretation.
• Document ultrasound exams accurately and in a timely manner according to department policies.
• Train and supervise students to ensure competency.
• Serve as a liaison between the hospital and clinical training programs from various schools.

Requirements:

• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• ARDMS certification required.
• Valid state license in Illinois.
