The Shift Supervisor is a leadership role that provides operational and administrative oversight of the facility on assigned shift or unit with a focus on process and ensuring the most efficient care of patients and resources. Ensures that patients move through the facility to the appropriate level of care.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the operation of the assigned unit and shift to ensure the clinical team is operating efficiently, smoothly, and consistently to support high-quality clinical care and outcomes.
- Oversees the operation, organization, and flow of patients through the unit and facility; including but not limited to delegating work assignments for all disciplines, and supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges to and from the unit. Acts as the on-site resource for the clinical staff, individuals, family members or community stakeholders
- Responsible for ensuring all clinical staff are following Utilization management and Revenue Cycle Management guidelines to ensure correct coding and billing of services.
- Manages escalated concerns/problems from internal and external stakeholders. Actively assess and manage barriers that impact patient flow through the facility.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, all standards of practice, and the requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies.
- Assists with training and orientation of new staff to unit processes and procedures. Partners with discipline manager to ensure full orientation to position.
- Utilizes de-escalation procedures and theories to assist in providing a safe milieu. Utilizes skills effectively to describe and demonstrate roles and responsibilities relative to safety
- Partners with clinical and administrative managers to identify and manage performance and behavior issues.
- Is trained in and able to perform Safe Clinch techniques and provide oversight and guidance.
- Performs all other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years’ experience as a direct clinical care provider in Nursing, Social Services, Administrative or Milieu support (BHS/RSS)
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to encourage cross-functional and multi-disciplinary partnership.
- The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years’ clinical work experience in a crisis behavioral health setting
- 3 years of leadership experience
