Job Description Summary
Assists with analyzing business user needs to assess technical feasibility and solutions. Assists with translating business requirements into functional specifications and managing changes. Assists with estimating the amount of analysis and development effort needed based on requirements. Involved in the full systems life cycle; designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting software, quality assurance, testing, and deployment. Assists with technical designs, specifications, and options for technical solutions. Develops technical documentation (designs, specifications, processes, workflows) and communications. Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties and identify problems. Carries out procedures to ensure that all systems, products and services meet agency standards and end-user requirements. Assists in the testing of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. Recommends improvements to existing services. Prepares flowcharts, block diagrams, and other documentation to illustrate programs and procedures. Assists in preparing user documentation, including user manuals. Assists in reporting to management on status of projects. Consults with clients and provides solutions for routine problems.Entity

Job Description
5% - Other duties essential to maintaining a quality, professional, responsive, and service oriented Nursing Technology Center. Serve as back-up to other department members when necessary.
5% - Manages the inventory, tracking, reporting, and reservation of Nursing Technology managed assets including all computers, monitors, peripheral hardware, printers, LCD projectors and laptops.
5% - Provide consultancy to faculty seeking grants or looking to bring in new educational technologies. Assist with coordinating vendors, determining technical requirements, developing budgets, and facilitate securing, training, and managing purchased technologies. Provide consultancy with grant writers to determine adequate technical needs, technical budgets, and cost justifications.
5% - Develop and maintain a hardware plan for the college that includes a college wide default package for computer and peripherals that will be used as a yearly refresh. Develop and provide to the Technology Direct a refresh schedule and budget. Implement yearly the computer refresh by updating user technologies, updating technology inventory, retrieve old computers, and surplus older computers.
5% - Manage both the College of Nursing HelpDesk and the IS ServiceNow ticketing system for incoming technology requests from college faculty, staff, and students. Work with requesting users on coordinating support and bringing issue to resolution. Facilitate to other IS teams if needed.
10% - Audio-Visual Technical Lead for all classroom and conference room technologies. Determine design specifications and consult with AV Vendors to develop schematics, installation requirements, and monthly support. Develop a refresh schedule for replacement and upgrades to provide to Technology Director. Manage the day-to-day operational integrity of the classroom technologies, including troubleshooting, setup, and support for ongoing users and events.
15% - Assist the Curriculum Coordinators in Educational Technologies support by providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 level support for Brightspace, ExamSoft, and Tams. Maintain ExamSoft user imports for periodic updates.
15% - Provide training to faculty and staff by developing training guides, offering periodic online training sessions, and 1:1 direct training.
35% - Provide senior leadership on all facets of technologies for the college by providing all levels of support for the operational needs of faculty, staff and students of the college. This includes support of computers, printers, operating systems, applications, network troubleshooting, and security. Participate in organizational meetings by representing the college at the Information Technology Monthly meetings. Develop and maintain working relationships with other technology support staff including Information Solutions. Facilitate support needs of the college that are not able to be resolved internally by reaching out to IS staff.
MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
A high school diploma and three years experience in computer system development and modification. A bachelor's degree in a related area may be substituted for the required work experience.
