**Job Title:** Radiologic Technologist
**Job Specialty:** Diagnostic Radiology
**Job Duration:** 12 weeks
**Shift:** 3rd shift, Friday and Saturday, every other Sunday
**Guaranteed Hours:** 20 hours per week
**Experience:** One year of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology preferred; clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience
**License:** State license as a Radiographer
**Certifications:**
- ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an approved equivalent within 90 days of hire
**Must-Have:** Ability to work independently, ER and OR experience
**Job Description:**
- Prepare patients and perform radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology.
- Operate imaging equipment and perform diagnostic studies according to specific guidelines and protocols.
- Adhere to radiation protection measures and organizational customer service standards.
- Provide effective interaction and communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Assist in patient care areas as necessary and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Perform radiologic/fluoroscopic procedures efficiently with minimal discomfort to the patient.
- Explain exams and assist patients throughout the process.
- Document personal medical history into the RIS system.
- Ensure radiation protection for self and patients following prescribed safety standards.
- Appropriately position patients and select technical factors for maximum diagnostic quality.
- Ensure correct image identification and review each study for technical accuracy.
- Work with staff for appropriate scheduling and throughput of exams; assist in transporting patients as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with radiologists and ordering providers during exams.
- Approve images, match orders to images, and archive them to PACS.
- Perform PACS reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC and follow EPIC workflow comprehensively.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and shift rotations to support departmental needs.
- Proactively seek additional opportunities to increase efficiency and provide a positive work environment.
- Offer assistance in preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Provide a positive teaching and learning environment for staff, students/interns, providers, and visitors.
- Act as a mentor and assist in onboarding new employees.
- Observe malfunctioning equipment, follow procedures to report issues, and provide minor troubleshooting.
This role requires a self-motivated individual who can organize, prioritize, and remain flexible in emergencies
The candidate should be customer service-oriented and proficient in handling various patient care, safety standards, and documentation practices
Completion of a Radiologic Technology program is required, along with the relevant state and national registrations and certifications.
