About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Profession:** Nursing **Specialty:** Medical Surgical **Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night Shift **Hours per Shift:** 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) **Experience:** Minimum 2 years required **License:** Valid California RN License **Certifications:** BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** Flexibility to float to different campuses or within the hospital as needed **Description:** A Medical Surgical Registered Nurse is needed for the night shift. The role involves providing competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in accordance with unit, department, and hospital policies. Key duties include: - Planning and coordinating care to ensure safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. - Setting priorities and providing care in routine and complex situations. - Acting as a liaison between nursing and medical staff to facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care. - Coordinating involvement of patients, physicians, families, and other health team members to achieve optimal patient care. - Administering treatments, medications, and performing nursing skills promptly and competently. - Conducting initial and ongoing assessment of patients and their families. - Completing nursing assessments within 24 hours of admission and ensuring the nursing process is goal-directed. - Observing patients’ conditions and behaviors and ensuring acuity levels are documented. - Modifying patient care plans as necessary in collaboration with the patient, their family, and other health professionals. Floating may be required within the scope of practice depending on census and hospital needs. A shuttle service is provided when floating to different campuses. To be successful in this role, professionals must possess strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills, develop creative solutions to problems, and demonstrate knowledge and ability to effectively interact with the patient population served.
