**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Labor & Delivery **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 3x12s, 36 hours per week **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience required **License:** RN License **Certifications:** AHA BLS, ACLS **Must-Have:** Triage experience **Job Description:** - Deliver safe, effective, quality nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. - Utilize Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, Relationship-Based Care, and professional nursing practice models to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. - Make determinations regarding patient progress and facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. - Provide care that meets the interdisciplinary plan of care, focusing on relationship-based care principles. - Assess patient physical and psychosocial conditions and formulate nursing diagnoses. - Create care plans in collaboration with clients to ensure safety, comfort, hygiene, protection, and restorative measures. - Perform essential nursing skills, explain health treatments, and educate clients and families on health care needs. - Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and modify them as necessary. - Demonstrate current knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications. - Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise the care team effectively. - Act as a patient advocate, facilitating informed healthcare decisions. - Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal practice standards. - Coordinate patient care activities with interdisciplinary team members. - Use proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills. - Perform physical duties including lifting, bending, and walking. - Meet organizational requirements for employment. - Document nursing care per hospital policies. - Utilize manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency. - Contribute to a positive patient care experience and resolve complaints when possible. - Investigate complaints and provide information to management. - Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
