About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - CVICU/Stepdown **Profession:** Registered Nurse **Specialty:** CVICU/Stepdown **Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night Shift **Hours per Shift:** 12 Hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) **Experience:** Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience required **License:** IL RN License in good standing **Certifications:** BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) **Must-Have:** CVICU Stepdown experience **Description:** The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame, providing care through the nursing process while utilizing nursing trends, technology, and resources within the institution's philosophy. **Essential Functions:** - Perform all responsibilities required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. - Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. - Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care to assure integration of information for use by the healthcare team. - Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care based on unit standards and patient and family needs. - Implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. - Modify the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. - Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents. - Communicate directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. - Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confer with colleagues to expand the knowledge base. - Identify own learning needs and take initiative to find appropriate solutions. - Fulfill all departmental competency requirements. **Department Specific Job Functions:** - Provide direct care to CVICU patients, including post-op day CABG, vascular, and ICU status patients. - Maintain a clean and tidy work environment. - Maintain hospital and unit-based competencies. - Conduct hourly rounding on patients. - Proactively seek opportunities to assist internal and external customers. **Schedule Notes:** Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM **Required Education:** ASN **Preferred Education:** BSN **Languages:** English - Read, Write, Speak
