Job Requirements
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Self scheduling, can accommodate most schedule requests
- Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend, but could be up to every other based on unit need
- Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor
- Floating Requirements: Will float to Postpartum, occasional float to the house to be a 'sitter'
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2-3 shifts
Schedule Information
- # of L&D Beds: 16 labor rooms and 9 antepartum rooms
- # of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 3
- # of Triage beds: 7 bed triage unit where they assess patients who are greater than 20 weeks with pregnancy complaints
- # of Postpartum beds: 36
- # of Births per day? Month? Year?: Up to 400 per month
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios?: 1:1-2 labors, 1:2-3 antepartum
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: High-risk OB and routine obstetric care
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge on Both Shifts
- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Duties?: 2 OBTs per shift
- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?: 3 residents and 1 supervising MD on the floor at all times
- Anesthesia in house 24/7?: CRNAs on the unit 24/7
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele in recovery after a c-section
- EFM System: Obix
- Scrub Color/Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided
Unit Specific Information
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
