Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Performs various engineering related calculations and analyses in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects.
- Collaborates with CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, surveyors, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
- Manages multiple publicly and privately funded projects and provides technical quality control of projects.
- Prepares project fee proposals and follows up as appropriate.
- Responsible for tracking of costs, schedules, and performance measurements for assigned projects.
- Coordinates the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and reports and assists in report production and development of engineering designs and specifications.
- Performs field assignments including site inspections and conducting field assessment of properties.
- Maintains field notes and photo documentation as required.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineering licensure in the state where this person’s work is primarily performed.
- Six (6) + years of overall and progressively responsible experience with public and private sector projects, specifically with NCDOT.
- Experience in traffic signal design, traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design, and cost estimating.
- Proficient in MicroStation/AutoCAD
