Responsibilities and Expectations:
We are looking for a Tool Room Clerk to join our team. As a Tool Room Clerk for IPS, you will apply innovative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail to compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment/tools, merchandise, or supplies stocked in the establishment by performing the following duties.
- Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
- Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
- Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
- Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
- Load/unload trucks.
- Inspect incoming shipments for any damage or shortages.
- Verify documents to match contents.
- Verify all contents to match the internal purchase order.
- Ability to enter data of receipts received.
- Process daily shipment for UPS/LTL etc.
- The ability to analyze the proper shipment method based on delivery requirements.
- Enter shipment data depending on shipment method (UPS, Third Party, or internal data base system).
- Tag all materials per the internal purchase order to the proper location.
- Distribute contents to their proper location.
- Properly distribute paperwork accordingly to the right department.
- Service internal request.
- Place stock in the correct location.
- Review requisition for vendor consolidation.
- Process purchase order.
- Analyze and purchase materials based on various reports
- Prepares list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.
- Stocks and issues materials or merchandise.
- Assist with creating jobs from nameplate information and close out as needed.
- Assist with researching parts for projects
- Assist with gathering non-repaired motor/pump components for scrap
- Perform aerial lift and scissor lift inspections daily.
- Perform forklift inspections daily.
- Gather tools for quarterly calibration
- Packaging materials for shipment
- Moving material to be shipped out to sub-tier vendors
- Moving materials with forklift to other storage areas
- Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye and ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.)
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Report all injuries, near misses, and accidents immediately to a supervisor
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies:
- 1-5 years of AC/DC motor experience preferred
- Able to perform basic math functions
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Able to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures
- Excellent technical and mechanical skills
- Self-starter and highly motivated person
