We are seeking a dedicated, passionate, and skilled Title I Interventionist (Elementary – Reading and Math) to join our educational team. The Interventionist will work with students in grades K-4 to provide interventions based on data to support students who require academic remediation. The ideal candidate will be committed to improving student outcomes, data driven, building positive relationships, and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure that students develop essential literacy and numeracy skills aligned to grade level standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reading Intervention:
- Provide small group reading interventions for students in need of additional support.
- Use research-based strategies and programs to support students’ reading fluency, comprehension, and phonics skills.
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction based on individual needs.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, including data on reading assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Math Intervention:
- Provide small group math interventions, focusing on Numbers and Operations, Algebra and Algebraic Thinking, Measurement and Data, and Geometry.
- Utilize math-specific intervention programs to help students build their mathematical understanding and confidence.
- Regularly assess student performance in math, and adjust instruction based on individual progress.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with School Based Data Team, Grade Level Teams, individual teachers, and Curriculum Department to identify students in need of interventions based on data
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to update them on student progress and suggest strategies for reinforcing learning at home.
- Work closely with the school's MTSS team, and other support staff, to ensure comprehensive support for all students.
- Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
- Administer and interpret assessments (both formal and informal) to track student progress in reading and math.
- Prepare and present regular reports on student progress to school administration and parents.
- Maintain a system for tracking intervention effectiveness and adjusting instruction accordingly.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in reading and math interventions.
- Stay informed about new tools, strategies, and resources that can enhance intervention services.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
- Certifications:
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Elementary Education (PK-4 or K-6) required.
- Additional certifications in Reading Specialist, Special Education, or Mathematics are a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience, with a focus on elementary students is highly preferred.
- Experience with intervention programs or teaching students with diverse learning needs is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model and data-driven instruction.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of elementary reading and math curricula and instructional strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with students with varying learning needs, including struggling readers and mathematicians.
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and data management tools to track student progress.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work at a desk and computer for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to engage in physical activities with students in the classroom setting.
