Tissue Recovery Technician I - DCI Donor Services

Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at TDS is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We want people to join our team in the role of Tissue Recovery Technician to coordinate the technical aspects of recovering donated human tissue.

Tennessee Donor Services is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within the state of Tennessee and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank.

Below are some of the key accountabilities/qualifications this position will hold:

The Tissue Recovery Technicians work around the clock as a team in the recovery of human tissue as a vital part of the donation process.

The Tissue Recovery Technicians will participate in the recovery, packaging, and labeling of human tissue. The recovery consists of cleaning and setting up the recovery room, surgical prep of the donor, aseptic recovery of human tissue, restoration of the donor, and decontamination of the recovery room and instruments.

The shifts for this position are 12 hour rotating shifts from 8-8 (AM & PM) and follow a two week rotation. (Week 1: Sun, Wed, Thurs and Week 2: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat.)*At this time, we are currently focused on hiring for the 8PM-8AM shift.

Training is a combination of instructor conducted didactic wet labs, the completion of training modules, and active training.

We offer a competitive compensation package including:

Starting Pay: $21.00 for Tissue Technician I.

(Employees assigned to an evening shift will earn an additional $1.50 per hour)

Opportunity to advance Technician Levels within 12 months with an increase of pay at each level.

o Technician II: $21.75

o Technician III: $23.50

o Technician IV: $24.50

o Technician V: $25.50
