Develops procedures, methods and tools for test, verification and certification of products. Validates testing activities and results of manufacturing equipment and/or hardware. Participates in design verification of new equipment or hardware. Participates in preparing product compliance documentation. Develops procedures and tools for testing, calibration and verification of the equipment. Ensures the equipment is properly tested, calibrated and certified according to the corresponding procedures. Ensures accurate document, record and archive measurement data pertaining to product. Responsible for testing parameters and process control performance.

Job Description:
The Advanced Sensor Systems and Test Beds Group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) by designing, developing, and maintaining modern data sensor systems, e.g. RADARs. This position will design, build, and implement effective testing strategies. Implemented strategies span the unit, component, and smoke tests levels. They need to develop thorough testing procedures to test every aspect of the software program. Testing will implement and reduce instrumentation data such as code coverage, memory analysis, and space & time analysis. The test engineer will also be responsible for tracking key code base metrics such as Cyclomatic Complexity and source lines of code (SLOC).
The software testing engineer position will check and verify program functionality to ensure successful milestones and deployments in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment. Software Test Engineers run tests on the product the Software Engineers make to ensure the code is correct and the software works per requirements. The Software Test Engineer will also be responsible for completing all testing procedures, suggesting performance changes, and preparing performance reports for the development managers along with monitoring key metrics.
Software Test Engineers need to be comfortable with technology and understand how things should work. They need the confidence to speak up when something doesn’t look right and to suggest ideas that might make the product better. Working together well with other team members is also crucial for success.
Test Engineers will work with:
Radar System Engineering (RSE) to capture defined use-case tests and ensure they are testable
Mission Assurance Office (MAO) to develop tests of FMEA defined failure cases
System Engineering office to ensure results continue to meet requirements
Software team to help identify issues discovered during defect triaging
DevSecOps to ensure tests and metrics are run in the automated pipeline and continue to run successfully
Test Engineers will monitor valuable metrics such as:
Defect Density
Code Churn
Rate of defect detection
Rate of defect closure
Requirements churn
