Territory Account Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a Territory Account Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced sales professional. As a Territory Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales within a designated territory, nurturing existing customer relationships, and identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
Essential Functions:
Location: This position is based out of a home office, offering flexibility and autonomy. Travel within the assigned territory is required, constituting up to 50% of your time, with occasional overnight stays.
Sales Growth: Your primary objective will be to achieve yearly sales growth by focusing on key accounts within your territory.
Customer Engagement: You will engage with prospects and customers through various channels, including cold calls, web meetings, and emails, to promote our products and services.
Administrative Duties: Manage all sales-related administrative tasks diligently, including maintaining CRM databases, submitting reports, and handling sales contracts.
Technical Support: Provide comprehensive training and support to customers on product features, firmware, software, and technical procedures.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales team and marketing department to stay updated on market trends and competitive landscapes. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping our strategies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Food, Life Science, Agricultural Business, or equivalent.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with food, beverage, and feed chemistry, microbiology, or agricultural practices.
Self-Motivation: As a self-driven individual, you thrive in a dynamic environment and are capable of adapting to changing market conditions.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for building rapport with customers and colleagues.
Flexibility: You should be prepared to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, to accommodate business and customer needs.
Travel: Travel is primarily local, but you should be willing to undertake up to 50% travel, including some out-of-area trips.
Preferred Locations: Ideally based in Missouri or Illinois.
Preferred:
Experience: 3-5 years of related sales experience, preferably in a technical or scientific field.
Technical Understanding: Knowledge of microbial, ATP, and mycotoxin offerings and their applications in food safety.
Quality Assurance: Familiarity with Quality Assurance, HACCP, ISO standards, and marketing principles would be advantageous.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
Certifications: GMP/GLP experience and relevant quality certifications would be beneficial.
