Telecommunications Install Technician - TEKsystems

Our client has a large contract which they have maintained for many years around MAC (move, add, change) work for government contractors. They have continued to excel in the data cabling/closet sector and their client has decided to get them engrained in a tremendous amount of security equipment upgrades at all of their facilities. We will be partnering with their client on this engagement and will need resources with security installation experience, but also to be cross utilized on the typical data MAC work.

This technician will be supporting the current team from a MAC (move, add, change) and new build perspective. The majority of the infrastructure has/is moving to VOIP and this resource could help with some of that transition, but overall will be supporting the emergency and classified hardlines which will remain copper. They will be responding to trouble tickets on a daily basis and supporting the MAC team on other initiatives during down time.

If they have any fiber knowledge that is a bonus, but mainly copper work and willing to train up on the fiber. This is set for a long term contract but they have strong history of bringing people on perm. Guaranteed 1 year and based on candidate feedback, it can be extended.

This position will be at various sites in Linthicum and potentially additional sites in the DMV market (95% will be at the main campus in Linthicum).

Top Skills Details

1. 3+ years of experience within the Security/Cable industry (preferably commercial work but open to residential as well).

2. Experience Running, Installing, and Terminating Low Voltage Cable/Copper (Cat5 and Cat6, light fiber experience is a nice to have with unicam terms)

3. Experience performing installation of Access Control, Card Readers, CCTV, etc.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00
