Position: Tier 1 Technical Support Specialist
Pay: $20/hr
Contract: 6 months
Location: Fully remote (US-based only)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Tier 1 Technical Support Specialist to support operations, production, and test environments. This role involves a variety of technical tasks in a remote setting, including incident response, system monitoring, and technical assistance under the supervision of a team leader.
Key Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 4 years in technical support or similar roles
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with shell scripting (Bourne, Bash, Perl, etc.)
- Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Cisco, VLAN, VPN, etc.)
- Hands-on with tools like M365, VMware, Red Hat, SharePoint
- Basic troubleshooting tasks (account creation, password resets, remote installations)
- Monitoring system health and documenting issues/resolutions
- Experience in Agile environments and familiarity with ITIL methodology
- Prior experience in a tiered support model and incident management
Certifications & Clearances:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Desired Certifications: ITIL, DoD 8570.1-M Compliance (IAT Level I)
- Clearances: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, U.S. Citizenship, and ability to obtain DHS Suitability
