LHH is partnering with a Financial Services company based in the Chicago Loop who is looking to hire a Technical Lifecycle Management Consultant. This will be a 6+ month project and be primarily remote (you might need to come to Chicago 1-2x times for a Data Center Audit -- TBD).
The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years experience working as a Project Manager or Project Coordinator (title doesn't matter so much) and has done lifecycle governance/end-of-life on Hardware and Systems (and maybe software). MUST be very detail oriented and CMDB experience.
This is NOT a Data-centric role
Candidates MUST be able to work CST time to be considered.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Partner with various technology areas to ensure a comprehensive list of technology assets/attributes is regularly reviewed and updated.
- Collaborate with team members to address technical needs for upcoming maintenance renewals.
- Drive and monitor the status of End of Life and End of Support products.
- Lead meetings to prioritize accurate CMDB updates and upcoming maintenance contract renewals.
- Proactively communicate regarding hardware and software renewals, CMDB updates, and end-of-life/support issues.
- Work with team, business, and technical leaders to understand business operations and provide appropriate support.
- Make recommendations to improve processes and standards.
- Assist in scoping out projects and monitor progress to mitigate renewal risks.
- Prepare and present at steering committee meetings to ensure alignment and participation.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive, accurate plans and schedules, and handle escalation management.
- Maintain and enforce our client's governance standards.
- Participate in improving the overall delivery model through feedback and information sharing.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing, addressing problems or concerns.
- Work with technical teams, procurement, and suppliers on technology options, quotes, and contract renewals.
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Partners with various technology areas to ensure a comprehensive list of technology assets/attributes is in place and being regularly reviewed and updated, including CMDB audits, upcoming IT Hardware and Software contract renewals, financials, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Collaborates and coordinates with others on the team to ensure technical needs are being addressed for upcoming maintenance renewals.
- Drives and monitors status for any End of Life and End of Support products that are being addressed/actioned.
- Leads meetings to drive consensus around prioritizing accurate CMDB updates (hardware and software) and upcoming maintenance contract renewals.
- Proactively communicates early and clearly regarding upcoming hardware and software renewals, CMDB updates, end-of-life/end-of-support issues, and provides transparency to these items at the senior leadership level.
- Assists in scoping out projects and continues to monitor progress to mitigate hardware and software renewal risks.
- Clearly and concisely socializes and drives decisions on upcoming renewals and ensures buy-in at areas of technology, including with Managed Service Provider(s).
- Prepares and may present at steering committee meetings to ensure and helps to ensure the scrum/delivery teams are aligned and prepared to participate.
- Manages and maintains comprehensive, accurate plans and schedules, and escalation management defined by governance standards.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work with technical teams, procurement, and suppliers on technology options, quotes, and contract renewals.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Proven experience with Project Management and Business Analysis (especially on the Infrastructure side)
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently to achieve team goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, clients, Technology management, and be an effective member of cross-functional teams.
- Ability to present and contextualize information and data that can be consumed by senior leaders and C-Suite executives.
- Requires strong diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince others.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or equivalent work experience.
- Typically a minimum of seven years of related work experience in multiple areas of technology including project/program management.
- Familiarity with Technology Lifecycle Management activities and phases (n-x, End of Life, End of Support).
- Understanding of CMDB, contract renewals, procurement processes, forecasting, and budgeting as it pertains to technology lifecycle management.
