Summary/Objective
The Technical Inside Sales Associate will be responsible for managing customer and supplier activities supporting our Charlotte based process equipment distribution business. Providing exceptional service to our valued clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders is of critical importance. Excellent opportunity for an individual interested in assisting customers achieve their goals, and/or a desire to grow into a technical outside sales position.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintain and cultivate positive customer and supplier relationships
- Provide price and availability on any standard or specialty items directly to customers
- Assist customers with proper product selection based on detailed specifications
- Take and solicit orders from customers over the phone and via e-mail
- Process orders, via order entry system, from our stock or directly source from suppliers
- Expedite orders and maintain contact with customers and suppliers.
- Follow up on orders to assure critical deliveries.
- Resolve any order problems related to delivery or paperwork issues directly with customer and suppliers.
- Handle all inquiries/contacts in a professional manner.
- Work in concert with our outside sales team; funnel leads/opportunities to the sales team
- Resolve product issues or determine product needs over the phone or via e-mail
Competencies/Requirements
- College degree or prior technical inside sales experience
- Ability to address customer concerns and communicate clearly and efficiently
- Convey a positive, customer-friendly disposition
- Handle and resolve challenging problems
- Strong organizational, communication, attention to detail and time management skills
- Establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
- Strong customer-service focus with a passion to exceed customer expectations
- High energy, drive and sense of responsibility
- Strong mechanical aptitude
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
