RSM is looking for a Director to join our Technical Accounting Consulting (TAC) practice to work closely with ManCo and PortCo companies, providing tailored guidance and leadership on the ongoing management of funds. Changing economies, new accounting policies and evolving tax regulations mean that business and professional services firms face an ever-changing business landscape. Responsibilities:

1. Manage multiple concurrent engagements within the TAC practice to provide technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to clients
2. Demonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting concepts
3. Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the development and execution of the consulting work plan and client deliverables
4. Collaborate directly with firm specialists/subject matter experts on complex accounting matters
5. Assist in the preparation of technical memos and other client deliverables
6. Manage TAC engagements and the engagement teams
7. Oversee engagement economics and manage appropriate resources for efficient engagement models
8. Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise; identify performance improvement opportunities
9. Understand RSM's service lines and work as a team in providing an integrated service delivery
10. Develop others within the TAC practice through mentoring, training and advising on career development or participating in other Firm initiatives
11. Understand RSM's lines of businesses, availability of services and where applicable, discuss with client management of opportunities to make valuable introductions to others in the firm
12. Work with the National Leader on 'go to market' strategy, participating in proposals, pitch meetings, and developing marketing collateral
13. Develop a strategy to utilize relationships external to the firm with different types of Centers of Influence to effectuate business growth
14. Subscribe to and actively read industry publications and share relevant information with clients as considered applicable
15. Ensure professional development through ongoing education
16. Willingness to travel 40% or less of the year, depending on your clients

Required Qualifications:

1. BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
2. 7+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting, financial reporting or technical accounting capacity, including experience with Asset Management or Specialty Finance companies.
3. An entrepreneurial mindset, excited to design and build out a niche service offering
4. A proven record of creating efficient processes and leading a team by example
5. Excellent team and project management skills
6. Advanced written and verbal communication skills
7. Understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and FASB regulations
8. A successful record of directing and deploying staff senior associates/supervisors, managers on multiple, simultaneous engagements

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in managing large and small projects related financial reporting and/or audit readiness
2. CPA or equivalent certification

Compensation Range: $134,100 - $285,800
