POSITION SUMMARY
The Team Leader will share their time between Assembly cell support (Daily management, Planning, Standard work, Training, Materials) and acting as a floating assembly labor resource to provide back-up and support increased demand. The Team Leader is proficient and capable of working in their designated cell areas, completing all job duties and responsibilities, with minimal oversight and direction. They will proactively communicate problems/issues as they arise as well as recommending solutions to their supervisor and assisting to resolve them quickly. The Team Leader is responsible for on-boarding and cross-cell training for cell employees. The Team Leader must embrace FBS (Fortive Business System) and use the tools to drive continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Acts as floater between assembly cells to provide back-up for employees who are out and/or where production demand requires more labor capacity (Approximately 25% of time).
+ Supports manufacturing assembly in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity through daily management and FBS tools.
+ Trains, promotes, and ensures employee adherence to all safety policies and regulations. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area always. Actively participates or leads team safety-related activities, including but not limited to near miss program and safety marathon.
+ Ensures adherence to all ISO quality policies and the achievement of customer quality targets.
+ Complete daily Gemba walk with all responsible cell/mfg. areas.
+ Actively participates in value stream SQDIP meeting representing the voice of the process.
+ Ensure all daily tasks (hour-by-hour, 5S, Kamishibai, First / Last / 2 nd level inspections) are being completed in a timely manner by team.
+ Works with the Manufacturing Supervisor to plan and prioritize daily work and “expedites” through each assembly cell to meet or exceed customer request.
+ Ensures process discipline to standard work and one-piece flow.
+ Communicate lack of or excess labor based on scheduled demand to Sr. Manufacturing Supervisor. Rotate team members to different cells/tasks based on workload.
+ Schedules and conducts on-boarding and cross-cell training for production cell assemblers.
+ Supports manufacturing readiness of new product manufacturability to meet or exceed launch schedules.
+ Champions FBS lean manufacturing principles in assembly cells. Participate in lean kaizens and blitzes.
+ Works with Sales, customer service and engineering to expedite products to the customer.
+ Gives feedback to team members on tasks or job-related performance. Escalates behavioral or on-going performance issues to Sr. Manufacturing Supervisor. Proactively provides input to supervisors regarding performance management of team members.
+ Responds to team member questions and concerns in a timely manner.
+ Address policy violations with team members when observed and communicate with supervisor.
+ Provides direction in the absence of the Sr. Manufacturing Supervisor.
+ This employee may be assigned other duties and responsibilities at the discretion of the Sr. Manufacturing Supervisor.

EDUCATION
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required (2-year technical degree preferred)
EXPERIENCE
+ Three (3) or more years of lean manufacturing work experience.
+ Aptitude to learn all assembly operations to backfill any position based on business need.
+ Ability to make base level decisions for product line(s) and processes in which the associate supports.
+ Prior experience operating basic manufacturing and inspection tools and equipment.
+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to create and follow schedules.
+ Good computer skills including ability to navigate web-based and MS Office applications as well as MRP software.
+ Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read / interpret drawings and bill of materials in absence of drawings.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact at various levels within the organization.

+ Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
+ Must be self-motivated, self-directed and act with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
A flexible schedule and regular overtime with potential for Saturday is a requirement of this position.

Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
The associate must also be willing and able to travel by all forms of transportation.
