Responsibilities:
The Teacher oversees all aspects of the academic program with supervision and support from the Education Supervisor/Manager and Executive Director. In collaboration with parents, teachers create an individualized academic plan for the students to achieve stated goals. This position will oversee multiple students working at a variety of paces on various subjects.
Essential Duties:
- Develop, in coordination with families and school districts, an individual academic plan for all students based on relevant academic information.
- Coordinate with school to administer coursework in a timely manner when required.
- Provide individual instruction and academic support to students through virtual instruction and school facilitated curriculum.
- Oversee math and science tutor, including, but not limited to, providing direction, feedback, and management.
- Monitor student progress, send weekly email updates to parents, and complete weekly charting in electronic documentation system.
- Provide daily and weekly assignment scheduling and support students in setting weekly goals.
- Provide support, accommodations, and requested participation for IEP/504 meetings.
- Attend required internal department meetings/trainings.
- Communicate behavioral, academic, and attendance concerns to clinical staff and direct care staff to devise appropriate interventions to address concerns with students.
- Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings, parent meetings, and clinical calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with student instruction required (middle/high school preferred).
