Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation and Review: Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Ensure accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Client Consultation: Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients. Develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities and advise clients on the tax implications of business decisions.
- Research: Conduct detailed tax research on various topics and stay updated with changes in tax legislation. Interpret and apply tax laws and regulations to client situations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including junior staff, to ensure high-quality service delivery. Mentor and assist in the training of junior tax staff.
- Audit Assistance: Assist in federal and state tax audits, including preparing responses and supporting documentation.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and procedures within the firm.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is highly preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of tax experience in a public accounting or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
