Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Lead the review / audit of income tax accounts and disclosures on SEC-registered and privately-owned clients, in conjunction with the attest team
- Review federal and state corporate returns; Review federal and state partnership returns.
- Lead coordination with department specialists, including International, SALT, R&D, M&A, & Transfer Pricing, on areas of technical complexity
- Prepare and review tax provision calculations and disclosures pursuant to ASC 740 for SEC-registered and privately-owned companies
- Train and supervise staff, review and evaluate their work.
- Perform evaluations on junior team members.
- Manage tax compliance & advisory engagements, including budgeting, scheduling, managing staff, and leading the client relationship
- Make suggestions to help improve efficiencies, within department and on engagements.
- Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate interest and knowledge of client's business
- Perform research and draft memoranda on corporate tax issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
- Proficiency in ASC 740
- Must be a CPA or an EA with a Master's in taxation
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience
- Strong supervisory skills
- Superb communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Able to liaison between Audit and Tax and clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in GoSystems, ProSystems, and Axcess a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to plan for and oversee the timely completion of engagements
- Excellent judgement and the ability to work independently
- Very good training skills
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field
- 1 year supervisory experience preferred
- CPA candidates preferred
- Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
