Title: Tax Director
Location: Greater Seattle Area
Reporting to: CFO
Are you a seasoned tax professional seeking a leadership role in a dynamic, closely held organization with over a century of excellence? Our client's team is searching for an experienced Tax Director to manage and develop their tax department, oversee compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and provide strategic tax planning for new business ventures.
Salary Range: 170K - $190K annually
Quarterly Bonus: ~$7.5K based on business
Parking Benefits: Complimentary parking pass and Ferry commute costs covered if needed.
Work-Life Balance: Flexible daily schedule—start as early as 6 AM or as late 10 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a talented tax team, including a Tax Manager and Senior Tax Accountant.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings for the organization and its affiliates.
- Strategize and support tax planning for new business initiatives and organizational changes.
- Prepare and review a wide range of tax filings, including income, sales, excise, and property taxes.
- Manage audits and respond to tax-related correspondence.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly tax reserve requirements and annual tax provisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations on estate planning activities.
- Maintain robust internal controls related to tax accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred).
- Expertise in Pro System tax software and large ERP systems is a plus.
