ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Tax Director/Partner in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) plays a crucial leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of tax-related matters and M&A activities. This individual will provide strategic guidance to clients, lead a team of professionals, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while optimizing opportunities for mergers and acquisitions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with business objectives to optimize tax efficiency.
Provide expert advice on domestic and international tax issues, including compliance, planning, and risk management.
Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization and its clients.
Lead and coordinate due diligence efforts for M&A transactions, identifying potential tax risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to structure deals and transactions tax-efficiently.
Provide strategic guidance on post-merger integration and restructuring to maximize tax benefits.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic tax planning and M&A advice.
Conduct client meetings and presentations to articulate complex tax concepts clearly and understandably.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, guiding them on technical matters and professional development.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Manage relationships with tax authorities, addressing inquiries, audits, and other compliance-related matters.
Monitor and report on the organization's overall tax position, risks, and opportunities.
Identify and assess tax risks associated with business activities and transactions.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and ensure compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA required.
Experience:
12+ years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and M&A transactions.
Strong knowledge of domestic and international tax laws and regulations.
Consistent business development experience required.
Proven leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
Compensation:
Competitive annual salary in the range of $220,000 to $500,000+, based on individual’s experience level.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a CPA certification. Proven leadership and managerial skills, business development experience, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Competitive annual salary ranging from $220,000 to $500,000+, based on experience level.
