Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Tax Director, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
1. Leading the strategic direction of the company's tax planning and compliance functions.
2. Overseeing the preparation and review of all tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
3. Developing and implementing tax strategies that maximize profits while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
4. Advising on tax implications of business decisions and potential acquisitions.
5. Identifying and mitigating tax risks and liabilities.
6. Managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
7. Staying abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company is prepared for any potential impacts.
8. Working closely with other departments to provide tax-related advice and guidance.
9. Leveraging expertise in the renewables sector and tax credit to drive business growth and profitability.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Tax Director position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax leadership role, preferably within the energy or renewables sector.
3. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
4. Proven experience with tax credit and other incentives in the renewables sector.
5. Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
8. Proficiency in tax software and other relevant technology.
9. A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of changes in the tax landscape.
