As a Tax Accountant, you will play a critical role in our growing firm. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing tax returns for our diverse clientele, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of tax codes and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts (Form 1120, 1040, 1065, 1041, etc.).
2. Conduct thorough tax reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
3. Research and interpret tax laws to provide guidance to clients and management on tax-related issues.
4. Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize client profitability.
5. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing tax laws and regulations.
7. Provide support in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
8. Assist with special projects as needed, such as tax audits, tax planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA, EA, or Master’s degree in Taxation is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and review, with a focus on Form 1120.
3. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations.
4. Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax information.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
10. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
11. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
