Job Summary
Responsible for assisting with the development of training materials/courses, presenting course materials locally, remotely and/or via web conferencing, assist in drills, and creating simulation scenarios for the Transmission System Operators or Distribution Dispatchers. The trainer is also responsible in the administration of progression tests or review boards, course evaluations, and material/course updates in adherence with the systematic approach to training and in compliance with PER-005.The Trainer must be able to work independently to research and develop training based on the outcome of the systematic approach to training. The trainer is familiar with the applicable operator area processes and procedures, and knowledge of the tools used.

Essential Job Functions
+ Assist in the development and delivery of technical skills training in adherence with the NERC Credential Maintenance Program Administrative Manual in support of reliability, dispatching, and operations support activities.
+ Provide information, documentation and procedures for dispatching, real-time operations, operations engineering and support functions.
+ ·Assist in the maintenance of internal and external training/qualification databases for all certified Energy Delivery Operations personnel in support of NERC compliance.
+ Develop and implement training using lessons learned (switching errors, mitigations, etc.).
+ Assist senior and principal training specialists in providing training via classroom, simulation, simulator, self-study and e-learning curricula, and vendor provided training
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:(Grade 7)
Education and Experience: Two-Year degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and three (3) years of experience in electric utility system operations. Or High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience in electric utility system operations. Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a NERC Certified System Operator certificate at the Transmission Operator, Balancing/Interchange/Transmission Operator or Reliability Operator levels or NERC certification in 18-months. Valid driver's license.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:(Grade 8)
Education and Experience: Two-Year degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or other technical area and five (5) years of experience in electric utility system operations, including two (2) years as a Transmission System Operator or three (3) years as a EDOps Training Specialist. Or High School Diploma and seven (7) years of experience in electric utility system operations, including two (2) years as a Transmission System Operator or three (3) years as a EDOps Training Specialist. Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a NERC Certified System Operator certificate at the Transmission Operator, Balancing/Interchange/Transmission Operator or Reliability Operator levels or NERC certification in 18-months. Valid state driver's license.
Additional Requirements
1) Attend internal/external training and/or meetings to enhance trainer’s skills and knowledge.
2) Familiarity and/or experience with NERC training requirements.
3) Working knowledge of NERC Standards and Operating policies, including HPI, and switching and tagging principles.
4) Strong communication skills both oral and written. Including past experience in making presentations to small and large groups.
5) Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure.
6) Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
7) Certification as a trainer/instructor or training/instructional designer is preferred.
8) Travel is required.
9) Ability to lift 40 lbs without restrictions.
Salary Range:
EDOPS Training Specialist(Grade 7)- $83,413-$104,268
EDOPS Training Specialist SR(Grade 8)- $94,225- $122,491
