PROGRAM COORDINATOR I
Under general supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel, and logistical support for a defined department program. Carries out established program objectives and directives. Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments. May supervise support staff. Communicates, using a variety of media, with internal and external constituencies. May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties. May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission. May handle data management.The ideal candidate should be a well-organized, detail-oriented individual who takes initiative and works efficiently with high independence. The candidate should also be someone who has a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to work and executes tasks thoroughly and promptly. The candidate for this position should be able to manage multiple projects and priorities and have experience in the following activities to support the efficient and timely execution of research projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete administrative tasks (IRB applications, clinicaltrials.gov profiles, etc.)
- Conduct in-person assessments at designated hospital sites, ensuring thorough data collection and proper documentation
- Oversee the distribution and management of financial incentives, including loading funds onto CLINCARDs or coordinating checks for program participants or community advisory board members
- Act as a liaison for program participants diagnosed through the assessment process, providing information on available resources and support programs at UAB or related institutions
- Assist in preparing grant applications, including data visualization (e.g., creating graphs) and completing associated forms
- Collect bio sketches and other required documentation from mentors and collaborators
- Coordinate the development of budgets and gather cost estimates for necessary project materials (e.g., name tags, pens, supplies)
- Assist in scheduling/coordinating internal or external collaborations, including partnerships with organizations
- Adjust study outcomes and protocols based on funding results and collaborative requirements
- Assists in training other staff and students on research activities both face-to-face and through virtual means
- Perform other duties as assigned
Hourly Range: %2415.00 - %2421.95
High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with healthcare providers and program participants
- Competency in creating reports, graphs, and presentations
- Familiarity with policies related to participant compensation and program compliance
