As a Permanent Systems Director of Facility Engineering in the Healthcare industry, you will be in a key leadership role, responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the facilities engineering programs. You will oversee the maintenance and improvement of our healthcare facilities, ensuring they meet all necessary codes, regulations, and efficiency standards. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, functionality, and comfort of our facilities for our patients, visitors, and staff. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, who is able to manage large-scale projects and teams. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage facilities engineering programs, including preventative maintenance, energy management, and life safety systems.
- Oversee the maintenance and improvement of healthcare facilities, ensuring they meet all necessary codes, regulations, and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand and meet their facility needs.
- Manage large-scale facility projects, from initial planning and budgeting, through to execution and final review.
- Lead and develop a high-performing facilities engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facility operations and maintenance.
- Develop and manage the facilities engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in facilities engineering, and implement relevant innovations in our facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management or engineering, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale facilities projects.
- Strong knowledge of facility codes, regulations, and efficiency standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
- Proficiency in relevant facility management software.
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification preferred.
