Position: System Integration Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Sterling Heights, MI

9-month Contract + Extensions

Pay Rate: $50-$65/hr *depending on candidate qualifications

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a System Integration Engineer to join one of our largest defense clients onsite out of Warren, MI in a hybrid role that will be onsite 2 days a week. This person needs to be comfortable learning a new field within the C4/C5ISR DoD space. They are looking for someone preferably coming from the automotive field and ready to make a transition to the DoD space. This person will receive training and mentorship from the team to help with that transition. This person will be responsible for developing architecture and strategies for the implementation of tactical communication systems on ground combat vehicles. They will assist in end-to-end program integration of communication networks throughout documentation, which includes testing and certification, safety confirmation, test, kit procurement, and integration. This person will also work cross functionally with various project management offices to evaluate program acquisition schedules, integration costs, and other requirements across network development.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working within either the DoD or automotive field

• Understanding functionality and connections of radios to vehicle platforms

• Experience with integration of communication protocols

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering field

• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

• Strong communication and willingness to consult customers on communication networks
