Job Description Summary

Directs the analysis, planning, implementation, and expenditures and budget tracking of major operational projects or initiatives. Provides recommendations to the leaders throughout the organization. Leads in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations. Collaborates with department/business unit leadership to support the budget process and meeting key operational goals. Collaborates with leaders to establish operating procedures, enhance clinical and non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings. Establishes department policies and procedures. This role will serve as the primary liaison for the department. Job Description
The System Director of Transfusion Services is responsible for providing comprehensive management and technical oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality testing services. This role encompasses ensuring adherence to established standards, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture, and driving continuous improvement through Six Sigma methodologies and key performance indicators. The Director manages staffing and workload, oversees supplies and FTE expenses, conducts performance evaluations, ensures clear communication, and holds collaborative meetings. Responsibilities include recommendations to the leaders throughout the organization. Leads in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations. Collaborates with department/business unit leadership to support the budget process and meeting key operational goals. Additional Job Description
Education: Master’s Degree or Equivalent
Work Experience: AABB Inspection/Inspector, 9 years progressive work experience and 5 years management experience.
State licensure and/or professional certification requirements: MLS(ASCP), SBB
Proven experience in managing and overseeing laboratory testing services.
Strong understanding of laboratory standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation processes.
Expertise in Six Sigma methodologies and performance improvement.
Excellent team building, communication, and leadership skills.
