MUST:
The Surgical Assistant will have experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Scrub Technologist program
Current certification through the NSAA or NBSTSA
Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider required
2 years of operating room experience preferred
Ambulatory Surgery Center experience is preferred
DUTIES:
Ability to close wounds after procedure under surgeons observation
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/ or equipment up to 50 lbs
Assists the surgeon during surgical procedures in a manner as to make the procedure safe, effective, and smooth flowing while adhering to strict aseptic techniques
Responsible for the preparation of surgical instruments and equipment as appropriate for the surgical procedure
Additoonal duties and responsibilites as needed
