Responsibilities:Supervisor performs day to day operations under the direction of the department operations director and the medical director of the Radiation Therapy. Daily operations include scheduling radiation therapists to appropriately levels to safely operate/perform CT planning and radiation treatment of the day’s workload, report issues that can affect operations and patientcare and safety, as well as any concerns and issue brought my patient, staff or physicians. This position also functions as a Radiation Therapist, administering therapeutic radiation, as ordered to facilitate accurate treatment delivery and in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Radiation Therapy Supervisor works closely with the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist and Dosimetrist in planning courses of radiation therapy by performing radiation dose distribution, position and dosage calculations and constructing treatment devices. This individual provides clear communication within the department and assists in the maintenance of radiation and repairs of equipment. This position performs training, education, payroll, corrective actions, works to ensure all therapy equipment service issues are addressed timely, communicates effectively with Dosimetrist, Therapists, Nursing, Physicist and Physician. This position communicates directly with the Operations director and assists in maintaining departmental accreditations at all levels.
Qualifications:EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have graduated from an accredited school/program. Preferred knowledge with CyberKnife and True beam technologies.
3. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required as a Radiation Therapist (T).
4. American Heart Association BLS card required.
5. State license if required.
