Job Description:
Client is seeking a technical consultant to support, Implement, administer and monitor usage of scientific applications for their pharmacology laboratories . The main focus will be operational and technical end user support activities in a biomedical research organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Tracks, troubleshoots and resolve application related issues including on site user support. Analyze problems. Answer questions, clear faults, propose solutions and/or arrange appropriate measures to be taken, involve experts.
- Provide technical support to globally deployed applications.
- Liaise with customer groups and dedicated other IT functions to optimize user support. Ensure close collaboration with appropriate system owners and key stakeholders in business
- Ensure all customer (internal and external) issues relating to the scientific application are managed effectively and efficiently in a timely manner.
- Handle standard Service Requests and perform User Administration for various scientific applications.
- Support test, Computer System Validation and roll-out activities within planned application changes and maintain relevant documentation based on the application/business expertise.
Required Skills:
- Operating systems: Windows Server Administration, UNIX / Linux
- Middleware: IIS Administration, Apache Administration
- Scripting: UNIX Shell Scripting/PERL scripting
- Programming / Coding: PL/SQL, .NET, Java, Python (would be an advantage)
Minimum Requirement:
- At least 5 years Work Experience in support & maintenance projects handling L2, L3 level of support
- At least 3 years Work Experience in biomedical research projects, handling scientific application operations, Administration of scientific applications or related.
- Having a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or Computer Science.
