Sampling Associates International, a bulk commodity sampling services company based in Hampton, VA, with multiple US and international operations, is offering an excellent opportunity for an Operations Supervisor at our operation onsite at CSXT Curtis Bay in Baltimore, Maryland. The ideal candidate must possess strong time-management skills, be dependable, prompt, and trustworthy, and excel in supervising and coordinating workflow efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard. A key aspect of this role is the ability to coach and develop employees, to help staff members reach their full potential and contribute effectively to the organization’s success. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years in management or a leadership role, demonstrating the ability to effectively lead a team. Excellent customer service skills are also required as the candidate will interact with various customers, terminal patrons and stakeholders.
Below is a description of the minimum skills and responsibilities needed for this position. These are not listed in order of importance or demand.
- Coordinate maintenance activity to ensure all equipment and facilities are in top condition.
- Evaluate and report upon the worksite for safety, cleanliness, and orderliness
- Certified in First Aid and Adult CPR
- Review of operations-related documentation
- Review of work instructions for improvements and corrections
- Training and evaluation of employees
- Assess, monitor, and follow up on maintenance projects, and parts inventory status to ensure that the overall program meets company requirements
- Assess company vehicles for safety and operational and ensure vehicle logs are up to date
- Assess preventative maintenance logs on a weekly basis
- Assist and/or train, work, or travel (at Company’s expense) to another Operation or worksite
- Conduct professional, positive, and effective verbal and written communications with senior management, administrative office, co-workers, site and lab personnel, customers, observers, and visitors
- Exposure to weather – inclusive of significant high/low temperatures and all forms of precipitation
- Brief or extended periods of walking, standing, ascending/descending ladders/stairs/sloped walkways; and walking or kneeling on uneven/unstable/weather-affected surfaces.
