Responsibilities:
The Nursing Supervisor provides oversight and instructions for on-site nursing to staff and young adults/adolescents. This position is expected to perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and values of Newport Healthcare and comply with all policies, procedures, OHSA, HIPAA, local, state, and federal regulations.
Essential Duties:
- Act as liaison between nursing team and Nursing Manager.
- Oversee chart audits on a weekly basis and address any missing or erroneous documentation immediately with Lead Nurse and Nursing Manager.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding new staff, disciplining and corrective action plans.
- Review all medication error reports and internal incident reports related to medications as needed per Nursing Manager.
- Participate in performance evaluations with the Nursing Manager.
- Assist Nursing Manager and Lead Nurse in delegating shift-specific responsibilities to maximize efficiency and accuracy in nursing care.
- Act as liaison with the Nursing Manager with local pharmacy.
- Communicate with admissions staff when issues arise.
- Complete documentation in a timely manner according to established standards.
- Perform clinical shifts as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on regional need.
- Current RN license in state in which applying for work and minimum two (2) years’ nursing experience
OR - Current LVN license in state which applying for work and minimum of three (3) years’ nursing experience.
