What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.
About the Consumer Health Logistics Center
The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will be Cardinal Health’s newest Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operation in Groveport, Ohio. This facility, featuring some of the latest innovations in automation technology, is approximately 300,000 square feet and picks, packs, and ships approximately $250 million in consumer products each month. The CHLC is a state-of-the-art hub facility that is responsible for providing consumer health products to the entire Cardinal Health network of forward distribution centers. By aggregating demand to a single ship-to location, the CHLC adds value to both manufacturing partners and the FDCs through economies of scale. This aggregation allows for a reduction of pick, pack, and ship cycle times, fewer damages, increased on-time rate, and a more efficient deployment of network inventory.
Location/Shift
This position will operate in a hybrid working model until the facility opens. Once the facility is operational, this role will be an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics Center. This position will initially work traditional hours Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and will be subject to change based on operational need.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, select, train, manage and evaluate a team of employees including senior analysts, analysts, and coordinators.
- Collaborate closely with all Inventory Management teams, Sourcing, Purchasing, and Operations teams as well as our management manufacturers to align product supply with customer demand.
- Contribute to design of new facility functions and processes.
- Strives to understand others' opinions and build agreement among team members; utilizes others' ideas and suggestions to shape solutions.

- Develop a robust succession model for self and team members to ensure a deep talent pool.
- Identifies current customer or supplier issues; effectively leads the coordination and resolution of those issues.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- 3-5 years of related work experience preferred
- 1-3 years of corporate inventory management and 4-8 years of operations experience preferred
- Established relationships with corporate functions such as purchasing, sourcing, category management preferred
- Understanding of full purchase order lifecycle from initial placement to full receipt including proper triage of exceptions
- Track record of effective project/initiative management
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Entrepreneurial approach to all things and a refusal to accept the status quo
- Can hire a team and hold individuals accountable for results
- Possess the ability to learn and execute activities within warehouse and inventory management systems
- Understand the importance of Lean Six Sigma principles and the connection to product flow
- Contribute to a work environment shows respect for every individual through the relentless pursuit of standardized work

Anticipated salary range: $66,500 - $99,600
