About the Internship
This internship gives students an opportunity to get hands on experience working in the Accounts Payable Division of the Comptroller’s Department. The candidate will work hand-in-hand with various staff members learning and enhancing their skills. The internship also gives the candidate a glimpse into a highly operational unit and hybrid work life.
Responsibilities
+ Tasks related to:
+ Operating expenses and variance monitoring.
+ City Payments and other schedule preparation.
+ Invoice & payments analysis and the monthly closing process.
+ Business Travel & SAP Travel Management
+ Travel registration payments and associated expenses in preparation for Payroll and month end-closing process.
+ Citi Payment Exchange Project and associated enrollment of existing and new vendors for ACH Payments.
+ Electronic Invoicing Project
+ Agency Vendor Management Project including continued cleanup of the Vendor Master files.
+ GR-IR, SE and PR Report analyses and other divisional assignments
Minimum Qualifications
+ Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
+ Major in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Desired Qualifications
+ Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP, etc.)
+ Accounting knowledge and Business machine usage (scanner, fax, telephone, copy machine)
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Flexibility to rotate among assignments and strong work initiative are desirabl
Internship Details
+ The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
+ The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
+ This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
+ The format is expected to be hybrid

Compensation & Benefits
+ The hourly rate range is $20.70 to $27.21 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
