Responsibilities
The Senior System Engineer is responsible for the architecture and management of Hazelden’s data center and IT system virtualization. This includes strategic planning, design, implementation, operations, and disaster recovery of all enterprise architectures and infrastructures, including servers, virtualization technologies, storage, backup systems, and monitoring systems. The Senior System Engineer has responsibility for enterprise VMWare/ESXi and supporting hardware and services. The Senior Systems Engineer will work to ensure system availability, reliability, and security in alignment with the needs of Hazelden’s strategic initiatives and related project deliverables.
- Responsible for the design, implementation, documentation, operations and disaster recovery of on premise and cloud based infrastructure services
- IT strategic planning and enterprise architecture
- Emergency response and disaster recovery
- Ensure the integrity of corporate data systems security to prevent unauthorized access to corporate technology resources.
- Participate in the development and ongoing management of IT budgets and contracts
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent years of experience)
- Minimum of 8 years’ engineer-level experience implementing, managing and upgrading a wide range of
- Technologies including but not limited to:
- Server hardware (HPE, Dell, Nutanix)
- Server operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix)
- Virtualization technologies (VMWare, Citrix, ESX)
- Scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash)
- Storage Area Network technologies (EMC, Pure Storage)
- Backup and disaster recovery technologies
- Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure)
- SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
- Applicable certifications
- Budget planning, forecasting, contract negotiation, licensing and support contract management
- Vendor relationship management
- Project management experience
