We are looking for a Medical Assistant to support our operations and interdepartmental clinical workflows.

We are looking for a Medical Assistant to support our operations and interdepartmental clinical workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Checking in and out patients
- Responsible for welcoming patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival and reviewing service delivery compared to schedule
- Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance
- Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol
- Check schedules and organizing patient flow
- Accompany patients to exam/procedure room
- Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc
- Perform phlebotomy.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health)
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree Required
- In progress towards a Bachelors is acceptable
- Excellent customer service/phone skills
- Ability to multi-task in busy environment
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Understanding in Medical/Psychiatric terminology
- Superior communication skills both written and oral
- Nurse: Current Pennsylvania state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Medical Assistant: Diploma or degree from a Medical Assistant training program or a national certification in Medical Assisting
