Position Overview

The Structural Steel Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating costs associated with steel construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers to ensure profitability and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and material requirements.
• Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to provide comprehensive cost estimates.
• Utilize estimating software and tools, including Procore and Bluebeam, to streamline the estimation process.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to discuss project updates and budget considerations.
• Respond to requests for information (RFIs) and provide clarifications on project estimates as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, project changes, and correspondence.
  
  

Qualifications

• 7+ years steel erection
• Projects exceeding 10,000 tons with mandatory complex structural experience (airports, stadiums, high rise, heavy industrial etc.)
• Equipment rigging experience is a bonus.
• Experience in developing crane/sequencing plans, optimizing erection schedules, construction methodology etc.
• Engineering Degree or Construction Management, (would also entertain experienced estimator with background from field without college experience)
