Responsibilities:Position Summary:
Strategic Sourcing & Value Analysis Department is responsible for all sourcing activities related to products for UCI Health. We work closely with Procurement, Contracting, Supply Chain, clinicians, physicians, and leadership to strategize UCI Health business decisions to deliver best practices including clinical quality, cost and outcomes. Incumbent is responsible for developing strategies that result in best-in-class strategic sourcing practices and supplier relationships. Identifies projects to apply sourcing and purchasing / procurement methodology to leverage annual purchase volume and rationalize supplier base to ensure benefits / savings to University. Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs; conduct buyer / market profiles; share marketplace trends; develop sourcing strategies; share best practices and define acceptable service levels.

Required Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of previous experience, preferably in a hospital or a large complex healthcare system or equivalent University purchasing experience.
- Strong organizational, meeting facilitation and decision-making skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner verbally and in writing.
- Strong ability to independently gather, organize, and perform analytical or sourcing assignments.
- Regularly works on projects complex and diverse in nature, requiring strong analytical skills where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining optimal results.
- Full knowledge of procurement and sourcing functions
- Experience in supply chain management with strong background in finance/decision support analytics. Must be able to articulate documented savings and supporting detail.
- Exhibits expertise with MMIS applications/workflow (Premier, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.), e-commerce (e.g. GHX), GPO and local contracting, Procure-to-Pay and other procurement, finance and supply chain-related functions.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Advanced level of proficiency and ability to perform complex analyses in Excel using formulas, pivot tables and other advanced calculations.
- Ability to manage high level projects that include formulating strategies, developing processes, and identifying resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of strategic sourcing policies, practices and systems.
- Thorough knowledge of healthcare sourcing commodity/product category.
- Ability to read, interpret, develop, and negotiate terms and conditions of contracts
