Under the direction of the Executive Chef, this position receives, stores, distributes all food, and supplies as required. Organizes items to assure maximum quality and easy retrieval. Maintains sanitary environment for food and supplies.

- 1. RECEIVING
- 1.1 Receives inventory from department purveyors and assures accuracy of order and quality of product.
- 2. FOOD STORAGE
- 2.1 Stores all food and supplies in designated areas.
- 3. FOOD DISTRIBUTION
- 3.1 Distributes food supplies as requisitioned and required.
- 4. INVENTORY
- 4.1 Inventories food and supplies on a weekly basis.
- 5. SANITATION
- 5.1 Maintains appropriate sanitation in-service areas and prep areas to assure a sanitary working environment.
- 6. SAFETY
- 6.1 Assure the safety of patients, staff and visitors through enforcement of department safety policies and procedures.
- 7. ADDITIONAL TASKS:
- 7.1 Performs any additional assignments as required by the supervisor/manager.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
EXPERIENCE
One year related experience
SPECIAL SKILLS
Able to speak and read English, Good interpersonal and communication skills, Successful completion of hospital orientation, Successful completion of department orientation, Must be able to lift 50 lbs. +, Must be able to stand/walk for 6 - 8 hours, Must be able to pull/push carts and equipment for 6 - 8 hours
PHYSICAL DEMAND
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach withhands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk .The employee must frequentlystoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds,occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds. The specific vision abilities required include close vision, distancevision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
