Purpose of Position:
To provide maximum service at the lowest possible cost to member-consumers by providing prompt, efficient, and reliable warehousing service that will assure that material and equipment will be available when needed.

- Sufficient hearing and vision to perform all job tasks. Impaired hearing and/or vision must not present a safety hazard to the employee, other employees and/or the general public.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalency required.
- Class A, Florida Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
- Will individually or with assistance pull or use force regularly for materials, tools and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, frequently pull or use force up to 50 pounds, and occasionally pull and use force up to 100 pounds. Reaching and lifting overhead is required. Job requires standing, crawling, climbing, bending, pulling and reaching majority of the time.
- Ability to obtain certification for the operation of forklifts or any other lifting equipment the cooperative may own that is required in the performance of job tasks.
- Ability to communicate on a two-way radio system and telephone.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle with an automatic transmission.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods during a work-shift.
- Ability to handle stress and pressure while engaged with Cooperative Members.
- Ability to learn to read and comprehend work order material lists.
- Mechanical abilities and knowledge of basic mathematics is preferred.
- Ability to handle and store hazardous materials in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
13. Live within 1 (one) hour of the facility.
Working Conditions:
Primarily inside work in a controlled environment with lifting equipment in operation. Some outside work in various weather conditions, while operating or with lifting equipment of various types in operation. May require outside work in extreme conditions during times of outages. Some overtime may be required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The following are essential responsibilities of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of the fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of this position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Peace River Electric Cooperative. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by your supervisor. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an “at will” employment relationship.
- Receives material into the warehouse and makes sure all items are received according to packing lists and purchase orders.
- Assists Purchasing in functions as required.
- Assists in processing invoices.
- Performs data entry of all materials to on-line system as required.
- Provides clerical and administrative support as required.
- Receives poles in pole yard and sees that they are stacked in proper bin.
- Maintains a clean and orderly appearance in all storage areas-the wire yard, warehouse, etc.
- Repairs damaged hand tools where economically feasible, as may be determined by the Operation Supervisor in said district.
- Advises Purchasing Agent and Warehouse Supervisor in said district of any material or supplies that need to be ordered.
- Accounts for materials required by work orders or account numbers as requested by Operations, Engineering and Purchasing Department.
- Returns all salvaged material to the correct W/O account number in the system and restocks material to the proper bin.
- Reads and understands construction requirements to determine materials needed.
- Complies with all traffic laws, safety rules and work procedures while operating equipment and tools.
- Keeps informed of all Cooperative policies and procedures affecting the job.
- Assist as necessary in scheduled program for the testing of all rubber gloves, sleeves, hot sticks, etc.
- Is able to read and interpret all information provided on a Transformer Name Plate to ensure appropriate materials receiving.
- Assists in performing inventory of materials and tools in the designated District.
- Inspects monthly, the fire extinguishers and first aid kits on forklift and warehouse trucks of the designated District and maintains up-to-date and appropriate records.
- Develops plans and procedures for presentation to the Warehouse Supervisor in said district for recommending improvements in accomplishing assigned duties.
- Provides operations and transportation support as required.
- Inspects forklifts daily and completes inspections reports as required.
- Processes all material received/issued/returned/salvaged for assigned district.
- Requisitions all material needed for assigned district to Warehouse Supervisor.
- Contacts vendors to enquire about different materials and order status.
- Sets up jobsite delivery for any large jobs.
- Assists engineering with job close out process.
- Over sees material management to all contractors.
- Be able to process year end inventory for all districts
- Performs such other duties as required and directed.
