Job Summary: One of our clients is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Statistical Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics and statistical studies, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. This role involves compiling and computing data according to statistical formulas, creating data visualizations, and preparing detailed reports. The candidate must possess excellent analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective data models. Use business intelligence software (Tableau and Microsoft Power BI) to create dashboards and visualize data.
- Report Preparation: Design and prepare periodic reports as per requirements detailed in official DFS policies. Compile and compute data according to statistical formulas for use in data analysis and/or statistical studies.
- Process Automation: Use technical expertise to automate manual processes and reporting, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Complex Data Handling: Work with complex data sets to understand problems and recommend procedures using various analytical and statistical approaches.
- Business Analytics: Prepare business analytics and assist in preparing metrics and reporting. Respond to ad hoc requests for data, aggregations, and visualizations.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis of data at DFS, including definitions and usage, system flows, challenges, and opportunities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with business users and business analysts to develop analytical strategies for implementation in various projects.
- Documentation: Develop documentation including data dictionaries, policies, and procedures. Assist with identification, documentation, and management of any data quality, integrity, and availability issues.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Data Analysis and Visualization: Proficient in data analysis and visualization using tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.
- Excel Expertise: High-level competency in Excel, including advanced formulas and macros.
- Database Management: Expertise in relational database management systems, SQL, and data modeling.
- Technical Translation: Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications for IT.
- Autonomous and Team Work: Highly motivated and effective working autonomously and as part of cross-functional teams.
- Multi-tasking: Ability to multi-task across projects while maintaining a high-quality work product.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in compiling and computing data according to statistical formulas for use in data analytic and/or statistical studies.
- Proof of eligibility to work in New York State.
- A Bachelors Degree.
