Stationary Engineer Location: US Coast Guard Yard – Curtis Bay,MD Type: Non-Exempt Compensation: $35.33-$35.33/hr. Work Schedule: Full-Time, 2:30pm-10:00, Monday – Sunday and Holidays as scheduled Benefits: Skookum is proud to offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to our eligible part-time and full-time employees. Skookum is seeking a flexible and reliable Stationary Engineer with a helpful attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Repairs and troubleshoots steam and/or Compressed Air Systems malfunctions to include water treatment systems. Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance on boilers, air compressors and other Central Plant equipment. Utilizes wire diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to guide repairs and maintenance. Ensures completed work meets quality control standards. Assists with orienting and training new employees and assists in work assignments. Qualifications: Licensed by the State of Maryland as Grade 1 Stationary Engineer required. Must be able to read and understand schematics and blueprints. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Be able to work independently or in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
Physical Demands
: Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 lbs. Good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, a good sense of balance. Ability to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and high man lifts. Requirements: Valid Driver’s license required. Must be able to obtain and maintain approval to operate a vehicle by Skookum’s insurance carrier. Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
