Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- As required, provide training to stamping set-up technicians and/or press operators with less experience. Training must be documented using FRM-HUR-0014 and submitted to the HR Dept. upon completion.
- At work site, prepare for operations by interfacing with stamping and tool maintenance personnel.
- At the start of the shift, review production schedule to understand which jobs require setup. Check to ensure you have the proper equipment and supplies necessary to perform the job.
- Install and setup stamping dies in presses and qualify through FAI. Setups may include auxiliary equipment such as clean lines, oil systems, payoffs, smart packs and take-ups.
- Pull stamping dies from the press when in need of maintenance or repair.
- Reset tools in stamping press after maintenance or repair work has been completed.
- Use troubleshooting skills and work with other setup technicians, operators and/or tool maintenance personnel to address unacceptable reject levels, resolve process or tooling problems, and develop a more robust and repeatable stamping setup process.
- Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner.
- Assist in the creation, modification or standardization of existing work procedures to include setup sheets.
- Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts.
- Perform all the function and responsibilities of a Stamping Press Operator when required.
- Ensure tool books contain accurate and current information regarding packaging specifications, setup sheets, and in-process inspection requirements.
- Keep current with emerging technology in the stamping industry to include auxiliary equipment.
- At the end of the shift, secure all equipment & machinery, make all entries into IEPs ERP system and complete all required paperwork.
- Follow Company policies and procedures as defined in the IEP Employee Manual.
- Follow all International Standards that apply to IEPs certification and QMS.
- Promote safety within the department by abiding by all related policies and procedures to include wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping in accordance with 5S standards.
- Perform duties outside of normal work hours as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education /Skills /Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.
- 2 to 4 years of Stamping experience, preferably in support of the Automotive or Electronics Industry.
- Cooperative with ability to work individually or in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Effective organization, prioritization, & time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Good administrative & record keeping skills.
- Intermediate computer skills to include Word & Excel.
- Self-starter with a strong drive for continuous improvement.
- Ability to read blueprints & understand GD&T.
